VanHorn – Eagle Funeral Home

FFH design had the opportunity to meet Mr. John Barrett last year at both MFDA (Michigan) and OFDA (Ohio).  After listening to his needs for the funeral home and further discussion in an on-site complimentary walk-through, we were tasked with the planning, oversight and the interior design completion of this remodel.  It was an adventure with historical roots.  This facility (located in Hillsdale, Michigan) sits in a quaint town with lots of history.  The staff, owners and local historical societies were exceedingly helpful in securing photos of the original funeral home – a grand Victorian.   There had been subsequent additions and remodels since that time and our job was to connect the two architectural styles while we fully appointed the space.  Mr. Barrett also asked if we could work with his existing carpet as it had just been newly installed prior to our conversation.  It seems the remodel has been a success!  And we thoroughly enjoyed the process working with Mr. Barrett, the staff and the Hillsdale community.
